During the seminar we would like to introduce you to three departments which are currently looking for internship candidates but also for graduates with knowledge of statistics, mathematics, econometrics, physics and financial mathematics and also graduates in programming or IT:
1. Global Risk Analytics (GRA) Department - the main objective of GRA is to build and manage tools (models) to meet business/client needs, ensure and support regulatory compliance of all internal models, provide end-to-end management of the models’ lifecycle, ensuring governance, control and appropriate usage. GRA employs c. 750 specialists with a footprint on all continents, its strongest presence in London, India, the US and Continental Europe
GRA sets policy and standards and provides cutting-edge tools to help identify, measure and manage risk, and ensure compliance across HSBC. The team supports the Wholesale Credit and Market Risk, Financial Crime Compliance, Regulatory Compliance and Operational Risk sub-functions of Global Risk.
2. Independent Model Review (IMR) Department - provides critical independent assurance of models which is a key element in enabling effective risk management.
IMR is a globally integrated team of c.230 analytical quantitative experts with experience in reviewing models across Credit, Markets, Financial Vulnerabilities, Insurance, Pensions and Wealth, and others. IMR operates as an integrated global function using their presence in Canada, US, Mexico, UK, France and Hong Kong, supported by larger Centres of Excellence in Krakow and Bangalore.
3. Product Control (PC) Department delivers financial control for Global Markets business and its main functions include reporting and analysis of P&L, monitoring of portfolio activity and validation of financial statements for trading desks.
PC performs valuation control processes, including parameters and model controls, independent price verification and fair value adjustments. Quantitative analysts within Product Control build mathematical models to price or adjust the valuation of financial instruments. Software developers create web and desktop applications which support product controllers, front office and market risk management in multiple functions.
Moreover, in 2018 we are launching Graduates Management Trainee Programme for the best graduates to help them start their careers and guide them to become future leaders of the organisation. The Management Trainee Programme is a paid 11 month development initiative for graduates specifically designed to develop the bank's future leaders across three different business areas of Banking Operations, Finance Operations and IT Technology within HSBC Service Delivery Kraków. The programme is designed to give the trainees direct exposure to all aspects of above areas and prepare them for the future growth in HSBC. After the programme our intention is to offer the best team players permanent positions.
